Placement Approach for The Data Storage Management Function in A RAN-CN Converged Network

Recently, the control plane of core network (CN) has introduced a flat service-based architecture to improve flexibility, openness, and intelligence. And novel radio access (RAN)-CN converged was proposed leverage advantages virtualization cloudification, reduce delay overhead, increase processing efficiency. In this paper, in order fully utilize RAN-CN move services closer user equipment, multi-layer is proposed, where some CN functions (NFs) are moved from edge node (EN) integrate with corresponding RAN avoid unnecessary signaling data forwarding. all NFs EN except storage management function (cDSM) designed be stateless decouple resources these NFs. Based on architecture, cDSM placement approach based improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (iNSGA-II) balance forwarding cost maximum load cDSMs. Simulation results demonstrate that compared conventional NSGA-II, convergence speed distribution iNSGA-II improved. according different requirements, scheme can achieve trade-off between
